What Are the Focus Areas?
Kourosh Livestock & Poultry Company is seeking innovative solutions to optimize the initial processing of poultry manure and improve compost quality. The goal is to produce standardized, export-ready fertilizers, reduce environmental impacts, and improve agricultural productivity. The direct use of raw poultry manure can lead to soil and water contamination, unpleasant odors, the spread of disease, and lower crop yields. For this reason, improving the manure processing process is considered one of the company’s critical and immediate needs.
Successful implementation of this initiative is expected to result in high-quality fertilizers that meet international standards, a 20–30% increase in agricultural yields compared with chemical fertilizers, and 2 to 5 times greater added value compared with raw manure. The target market includes domestic farmers seeking higher productivity, as well as highly regulated export markets, particularly European countries.
These challenges present a valuable opportunity to develop solutions for optimizing the initial processing of poultry manure and improving compost quality.
Technology experts, startups, and knowledge-based companies are invited to submit creative solutions for improving and optimizing this process.
Poultry transportation involves the movement of live birds, feed inputs, and related products between farms, processing facilities, markets, and distribution centers. This process plays an important role in maintaining the health, quality, and efficiency of the production chain and requires careful control of factors such as temperature, ventilation, stress reduction, and hygiene standards.
Despite the use of specialized vehicles, several challenges remain:
- Feed and input transportation: temperature fluctuations, potential tanker contamination, and time constraints when transporting sensitive materials.
- Day-old chick transportation: the need to maintain a stable temperature of at least 32°C, a maximum transport window of 24 hours after hatching, and vibration-related stress.
- Live poultry transportation: transport-related stress, risk of heat stress during warmer seasons, and inadequate vehicle hygiene.
- Post-slaughter transportation: maintaining the cold chain at 0–4°C, preventing secondary contamination, and controlling transport time for fresh products.
These challenges create valuable opportunities for the development of innovative and smart solutions for poultry transportation.
