Golrang Ventures’ presence at Elecomp 2024
The 27th Elecomp International Exhibition, with the slogan “All Together for the Digital Economy,” was held from July 29 to 31, 2024 at the Permanent Exhibition Center of Tehran International Exhibitions. This event, which is considered one of the most important specialized exhibitions in the fields of electronics, computers, and e-commerce, hosted more than 500 companies and startup teams and 9 science and technology parks.
Elecomp provides an opportunity for knowledge to become more specialized and for startups to grow. On the first day of the event, Solmaz Sadegnia, CEO of Golrang Ventures, spoke with Arash Sarwari, designer and producer of Elcomp Talks, on a specialized panel. Arash Sarwari introduced Sadegnia as the first female representative at the Talks to date and announced that Golrang Ventures is approaching its second anniversary.
During the specialized panel at the Elcomp exhibition, Solmaz Sadegnia, CEO of Golrang Ventures, explained the principles and foundations of this group’s investments and emphasized that Golrang Industrial Group has always been based on the use of innovative processes in its work path, and in recent years, activities have taken place in line with the development of the startup ecosystem in Golrang Industrial Group, and ventures such as Ekala and Tara have been formed.
In response to a question about the areas of interest of Golrang Ventures, the CEO of the company stated that the attractive fields for investment have been announced on its official website. He emphasized that Golrang Ventures, due to its multidimensional and multidisciplinary nature, cannot announce its investment policies in a transparent and unique way like other investment companies, because every plan and idea must be comprehensively examined in all areas. He added that our desire at Golrang Industrial Group is to move towards smart money and create significant added value from the value chain, and this is an issue that teams should pay attention to.
Solmaz Sadegnia stated that Golrang Ventures’ strategy is based on the principle that we actively seek out talented teams, negotiate with them, and carefully review projects.
In response to how he evaluates this year’s Elcomp exhibition, Sadeq Nia stated that exhibitions in the ecosystem are a place for synergy and exchange of knowledge among industry activists. Referring to the hope and motivation observed in the teams, he stated; This year’s exhibition is expected to be very fruitful and bring important achievements in the ecosystem. The CEO of Golrang Ventures also predicted that in the next one or two years, we will witness a more serious presence of industries in the form of CVCs in the ecosystem, which will lead to significant added value in Iranian investments.
Finally, referring to the future of investment in Iran, he emphasized the importance of startups moving towards basic science fields and expressed hope that this year’s exhibition, with the motivation present in the teams, will bring good achievements.
Golrang Ventures in elecomp pitch
In addition to this discussion, Golrang Ventures participated in the last Elcom Talks judging panel and judged ten teams in various fields of artificial intelligence, e-commerce, education, etc. Zohreh Lorek, Head of Innovation Ecosystem Development at Golrang Ventures, represented the company on the Elcom Pitch judging panel.
According to DigiAto, Mehdi Niazimanesh, the manager of the Elecom department at the 27th Elecomp Pitch, says:
“This year, in Al-Kampich, we are trying to host more teams from provinces other than Tehran than in previous years. This year, the management will be done from outside Tehran and in Isfahan. We will also try to have a stronger presence of women this year than in the past.”
He continues: “The judges are experienced people in the startup field and people who have started their own startups. Our plan is that this year at least 50 percent of our judges will be women.”
