Golrang Ventures, with the aim of strengthening and developing the innovation ecosystem in the country, supported the second “Azadeh Innovation Award” event.
The Azadeh Innovation Award, which is held to identify and encourage innovative ideas among Iranian youth and entrepreneurs, provides a platform for the introduction and growth of innovative and creative projects that can have an impact in various areas of the Iranian economy and society.
In an interview with peivast magazine, Solmaz Sadeghnia, CEO of Golrang Ventures, pointed out the importance of this event in empowering young people, especially women entrepreneurs, and stated that Golrang Group has always emphasized value creation through entrepreneurship and innovation by relying on young people. She stated: “These events motivate girls, especially teenagers, to know that there is a platform for their activities and opportunities to express their capabilities.” According to her, nearly 50 percent of the country’s population is made up of women, and such events can greatly help to improve their status in society and the country’s economy.
The “Azadeh Innovation Award” provides a special opportunity for innovative and entrepreneurial women to showcase their ideas and benefit from the support of investors and experts. Ms. Sadeghnia explained that events like “Azadeh” are effective in motivating girls and young women and introducing them to the paths of progress. She added that at Golrang Group, they seek to create equal opportunities for all people regardless of gender, and therefore, attending such events provides a platform for women’s empowerment to be better recognized.
He also addressed the challenges facing women in entrepreneurship, stating that obstacles in this regard exist not only in Iran but also globally. However, he noted the positive trend of reducing this gap in the field of new technologies and ICT, stating that this trend is also being strengthened in Iran with the holding of events such as “Azadeh” and it is hoped that this gap will be reduced in the coming years.
Golrang Ventures, by supporting the “Free Innovation Prize,” seeks to identify and strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities across the country. Sadeghnia explained that the company has processes through which talented individuals across the country are identified and reviewed, and if they fit into the Golrang value chain, their development is supported through direct investment or through collaboration in projects. This approach has led Golrang Ventures, as the venture capital arm of Golrang Industrial Group, to identify innovative talents across the country and support them on their path to growth and development.
With the participation of valuable colleagues of Golrang Ventures in mentoring and judging programs, represented by Ms. Zohreh Lorek, Head of Innovation Ecosystem Development, and Mr. Reza Yazdanpanah and Navid Majedi, Senior Investment Experts, efforts were made to support the Azadeh Innovation Award event in a comprehensive manner. This event, which was held with the widespread presence of participants from all over the country, provided a platform for showcasing innovative ideas and strengthening the capabilities of entrepreneurs. It is hoped that with the continuation of such events, effective steps will be taken towards the development of creative ideas, especially the empowerment of women, and the future generation of entrepreneurs in the country will reach higher horizons with the necessary motivation and support.
